Advanced Top Speed Calculator

The power output of the motor in watts.
The electric potential provided by the battery.
The weight of the rider.
The weight of the scooter.
The drag coefficient of the scooter.
The frontal area of the scooter in square meters.
The rolling resistance coefficient of the tires.

How Top Speed is Calculated

This calculator uses the following formula to estimate the top speed of your electric scooter:

Top Speed (km/h) = sqrt((2 * Motor Power (W) * Efficiency) / (Air Density * Frontal Area (m²) * Drag Coefficient (Cd) + (Rider Weight (kg) + Scooter Weight (kg)) * g * Rolling Resistance Coefficient (Cr)))

Where:

  • Motor Power (W): The power output of the motor in watts.
  • Battery Voltage (V): The electric potential provided by the battery.
  • Rider Weight (kg): The weight of the rider.
  • Scooter Weight (kg): The weight of the scooter.
  • Drag Coefficient (Cd): The drag coefficient of the scooter.
  • Frontal Area (m²): The frontal area of the scooter in square meters.
  • Rolling Resistance Coefficient (Cr): The rolling resistance coefficient of the tires.
  • Air Density: Assumed to be 1.225 kg/m³ at sea level.
  • g: Gravitational acceleration, approximately 9.81 m/s².
  • Efficiency: Assumed to be 0.9 (90%).
