How Environmental Impact is Calculated

This calculator uses the following formulas to estimate the environmental impact of using an electric scooter:

CO2 Emissions (kgCO2) = (Battery Capacity (Ah) × Battery Voltage (V) × Distance Traveled (km) × Carbon Intensity (gCO2/kWh)) / (1000 * Battery Capacity (Ah) * Battery Voltage (V))

Where:

  • Battery Capacity (Ah): The total amount of electric charge the battery can store.
  • Battery Voltage (V): The electric potential provided by the battery.
  • Distance Traveled (km): The total distance you plan to travel.
  • Carbon Intensity (gCO2/kWh): The amount of CO2 emitted per kWh of electricity used.

Comparison with alternative modes of transportation is made based on average emissions for each mode.
